About Alan KeAne

While having a passion for performance sport, Alan continues to be driven by a desire to grow and develop in all areas of leadership and performance.

Alan’s knowledge, experience and competencies have been acquired through years of self-refection and guidance having been on the front lines of coaching, teaching, mentoring, leadership and building high performance learning environments.

For the past twelve years Alan has been deeply entrenched in international basketball as a Great Britain and England coach. This environment has facilitated Alan to develop many different areas of leadership and responsibility, one example being athlete engagement and influencing aspirations for excellence.

Alan possess a unique skillset acquired through combining professional roles as a teacher and international basketball coach. While Alan no longer works as a teacher in a classroom setting, he has developed extensive experience in both academia and performance sports as an influencer of performance behaviours. Alan’s time working in education and the work he has done influencing teachers, students and performance athletes has been acknowledged and highly commended by Ofsted, the London Leadership Strategy and external inspections.

"Developing a culture of excellence through pupil engagement - employing methods of an international sports performance environment to the classroom", a one year project that Alan led in conjunction with Mark Bennett where teachers were mentored using PDS principles to bring excellence to life in the classroom and their students. In addition, the London Leadership Strategy (2014), published a wonderful case study exhibiting the impact Alan and his systematic performance approach had on students, athletes and the wider school.

Alan is well versed and fully competent in bringing the PDS principles to life and keeping them alive in the most challenging circumstances. Whether it involves influencing and getting buy-in from support staff, club management, professional athletes, veteran players, young and experienced or beginners, Alan has experienced all challenges and found a way to connect, influence and facilitate an environment where all flourish on their journey towards excellence.
